Adipo-glial signaling mediates metabolic adaptation in peripheral nerve regeneration

This article elucidates the role of adipo-glial signaling in supporting metabolic adaptation during peripheral nerve regeneration. Schwann cells interact with adipocytes to regulate energy demands critical for nerve repair processes.

The findings reveal that metabolic crosstalk between these cell types promotes efficient remyelination and axonal recovery. Disruptions in this signaling axis could impair regeneration and exacerbate nerve injuries. Therapeutic modulation of adipo-glial pathways could enhance peripheral nerve repair, offering new strategies for treating nerve injuries and metabolic-related neuropathies.
